Applause!

A little good news goes a long way, and we have A LOT of good news! (Maybe that’ll get us through the eternity that is 2020.) Our very own Janice Obuchowski has short fiction forthcoming from Crazyhorse, the LA Review, and Saranac. I am so grateful to the editors at the North American Review for publishing my short story, “Ghost Town,” last month. And since our last newsletter, we can announce so many other new items, too: from agent representation to book deals to cover reveals.

  • Connie Biewald’s debut novel about a Haitian family in Boston, TRUTH LIKE OIL, will be published May 25, 2021 by Vine Leaves Press.

  • JJ Elliot is now represented by Tanera Simons from Darley Anderson in London, and will soon be going out with her funny, heartfelt debut novel about three women coming to terms with their best friend’s death.

  • The Threepenny Editor’s 2016 free edit contest winner Christine Evans found an agent for her stunning literary debut, NADIA, set in London after the Croatian War. Jennifer Thompson of Nordlyset Literary Agency will be submitting the manuscript to publishers soon.

  • Sara Goudarzi is now represented by Lori Galvin of Aevitas Creative Management and is working on her second novel.

  • Allison Kade and Lorraine Boissoneault teamed up to find a great agent in Sorche Fairbank for their smart, surreal literary speculative novel, HOMINID.

  • I'm thrilled for Nidhi Upadhyay, whose first novel, a psychological thriller, THAT NIGHT, will come out next year from Penguin Random House, India.

  • During the pandemic, Greg Hadley worked with other residents of his community to create Covid Compendium, a collection of essays, poems, songs, pictures and jottings from some of the residents of Mary's Woods Retirement Community in Lake Oswego, Oregon.

I’m also thrilled for these Threepenny clients whose books have come out within the past year. It was an honor to work with so many brilliant people. Congratulations to one and all!
